IN SUDDEN DARKNESS
Written and Directed by Tayler Montague, IN SUDDEN DARKNESS, premiered the Blackstar Film Festival in 2020. Told through the eyes of their eldest daughter, Tati, the short film chronicles the Moore Family and their immediate community in the Bronx as they navigate the Blackout of 2003.
The film went on to play: The New York Film Festival, The Toronto International Film Festival, AFI Fest, NICHO 54 in Brazil, FilmFest Ghent, etc.
IN SUDDEN DARKNESS won the Best Narrative Short Award at the New Orleans Film Festival and received a special mention at the Indie Memphis Film Festival.
Since its release, the film continues to screen often. Most recently at The Museum of Modern Art’s By Any Means Necessary film program and at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archives for their BLACK LIFE series.
